Real Fish Market
We offer guests an opportunity to see Icelandic fish being landed and stored in the Fish Market. Every work day, the fish is offered for sale to fish mongers on the market and price is determined by offers on the internet. In the Grandi Food Hall and Fish Market you can eat at eight food stalls (also the newly landed fish of course) and watch fish being landed and stored.
Icelandic fishing industry uses nearly all parts of the fish while other nations use nearly half of the fish as landfill. Our guests will learn how Icelanders use each fish and try out fish factory uniforms. Exciting new items from the fish byproducts are also on display and some are available for purchase in our first of it´s kind in Iceland, 100% self service shop.
The Fish Market is also a performance and an event venue for rental. A unique space for special occasions. Feel free to contact us if you are interested in booking your group for a tour or a private function.
We welcome you all!
